With a vast repertoire of songs spanning many decades and genres, Robert is an exciting, entertaining pianist, instrumentalist and vocalist. He is an expert at generating a party buzz, getting the audience singing, dancing and clapping. Alternatively, Robert can play slow, gentle background music, instrumental medleys, if desired interspersed with occasional or more frequent singing. Or he can start soft and build to a climax with singalong dancing hits.
Robert’s performances can be tailored to your specifications! Instrumentals are part improvised, part classic tunes. He has an extensive set list, constantly growing, which includes songs from The Beatles, Mumford & Sons, Queen, Sinatra, Adele, U2 and Elton John….

It's been kind of quiet for a few weeks, but this weekend it was really buzzing. I brought Country Roads from my old Norway days back into the set; oooh, that went down very well, then Those Were The Days which I haven't done in a while. Have to keep those in, really good crowd pleasers! Really good night, some old faces back for more and some new faces I hope to see again. Looking forward to Saturday coming, yippppeeee!

The last hour or so suddenly exploded; what a class end to the night - suddenly everyone dancing, singing... last week someone suggested Madonna's 'Like A Prayer' - used to play a bit of that years ago in Norway, great suggestion to bring it back as it went down great. A few other great suggestions that I improv-ed which I will learn proper for next week. Come along to check them out!

First gig in No.5 since Christmas, been nursing the cough that won't go away. What a great night! Started off very slow - it usually does, before madness ensues - with a small intimate crowd where I was able to chat with the people, get to know them a bit, hopefully not embarrass them too much, but I do like a bit of audience participation.
The last hour, it became pretty jammed, and suddenly it was Medley City, from Beatles to Mumford, Queen to U2. Did a few encores, ended the night very much on a high. Tried out Galway Girl, mysteriously absent from my set until now. Great song, crowd loved it, sang along! And we get to do it all again next Friday, Yipppeeee!!!!

I know it sounds like I'm repeating myself, but another great night! Started off with a sparse group of people, whom I was able to talk to and get their names, get requests, have a laugh with them and all... even met someone who runs a Piano Bar I used to work in, ha! Gave You're The Voice by John Farnham a whirl, worked well, though don't know if people are mad for it. Will test it out again! Around 12pm, the crowds started milling in and it became good-natured boisterous-ism, swinging, singing. Encored, ending with Hey Jude, With Or Without You and (staple end song) Always Looks On The Bright Side Of Life!

Brillo crowd Saturday, tried a few new songs, everyone singing along. Got a bit rowdy on occasion, but let's say benevolently rowdy! as it was all good spirits, friendly bustle. Bit of a Queen section, even sang Freddie's warm-up exercises along with the audience! Worked great!!

Great gig, met some fun people out for a good time. During my first break, one of the managers asked me 'What's the plan for the second act?' (as if I ever have one). I used to meticulously draw up setlists before a show and follow them pretty much to the letter (if that's the right expression); now I sort of feel where the crowd is going, slowly building. No plan usually! Sometimes a song doesn't work, doesn't feel right, in which case kill it! and move on.
